AIMS OF AOYP:
Africa On Your Plate (AOYP) is quite unique. It focuses on a specific aspect of Ghanaian food, namely; foods that are used
for entertaining. Most Ghanaian or African food blogs cover all foods whereas AOYP is specific and specialises only in entertaining foods. Even though there may be overlaps, AOYP looks at the foods from a different perspective, namely, entertaining!
- My aim for this blog is very simple - to share our exotic foods with the world and to let the world know that Africa does have tasty, healthy and exotic foods which are there for the
- to encourage non-nationals and those in the diaspora to patronise African food and to include some when entertaining;
- to encourage hoteliers and restauranteurs abroad to balance their menus by serving some African foods.
The recipes I present on the site are carefully chosen to offer variety. They are easy to make and I have ensured that the ingredients are readily available to any one who wants to cook them -
either here in Africa or abroad. The format of presentation is in picture and recipe form. The instructions for making the recipes are easy to follow and are usually only 4 or sometimes less. I also provide as many cooking tips as possible to make
cooking the dishes stress-free and successful.
CONCEPT BEHIND AOYP:
I believe that in this age of globalization, food has also evolved. People all over the world are trying cuisines from other cultures which they would never, perhaps, have dreamt of trying a few years back. It is because of this that
I am sharing these African recipes with anyone with a passion for cooking and/or a keenness to try something new and innovative when entertaining.
